Bengaluru: In a deeply disturbing case of alleged domestic abuse and exploitation, a woman in Bengaluru has approached the Banashankari Police, accusing her husband of subjecting her to relentless harassment and attempting to push her into prostitution.
The complainant, who has been married for four years to the accused, Yunus Pasha, claimed that despite abandoning her family for the marriage, her husband and his family made her life “a living hell.” What began as a seemingly happy marriage soon turned into a nightmare, she told police.
The woman alleged that Yunus Pasha, along with his parents Chand Pasha and Shaheen Taj, began torturing her just four months into the marriage. She further stated that her husband demanded she cooperate with his alleged involvement in sex trafficking and pressured her to accompany political figures for sexual favours.
“He would show me chats, share my photos, and tell me I must go with certain people. He even threatened me with acid attacks, murder, and kidnapping if I refused,” the woman said in her complaint.
She also claimed that during pregnancy, she was assaulted to the point of miscarriage and that her in-laws constantly harassed her mentally and physically. “He wanted to sell me, to make me work with his so-called clients. I couldn’t take it anymore,” she added tearfully.
The woman has filed a formal complaint at the Banashankari Police Station, requesting protection and legal action against her husband and in-laws.
The police have registered an FIR against Yunus Pasha and his parents and are reportedly issuing notices while collecting evidence.
