Bengaluru South City Corporation Commissioner K.N. Ramesh addresses officials during a workshop on the AI-based civic issue survey.
Bengaluru: Bengaluru South City Corporation has used an artificial-intelligence survey to flag 2,000 civic problems, including around 1,000 waste and garbage black-spot complaints that officials have been ordered to clear within 10 days.
Corporation Commissioner K.N. Ramesh said the pilot is designed to send issues such as potholes, faulty streetlights, illegal hoardings, footpath encroachments, construction waste and unauthorised optical-fibre cables directly to the responsible field officers.
AI vehicle surveyed 150 km
Working with Chitragupt Urban Technologies, the corporation deployed an AI-camera vehicle across 150 km of the 311 km arterial and sub-arterial road network covered by the pilot. The system identifies problems and generates individual ticket numbers.
Anveshak app requires proof from the spot
Marshals and junior health inspectors can see assigned complaints through the Anveshak mobile app. A ticket can be closed only after the problem is resolved and a geo-tagged photograph is uploaded from within 50 metres of the identified location.
Ramesh set a 10-day deadline for closing the roughly 1,000 waste-related tickets. The corporation plans a repeat AI-camera survey every 30 days to verify earlier work and create tickets for newly detected problems.
Officials said a wider rollout will be considered after assessing the pilot and staff performance.
