Bengaluru: Rain and waterlogging slowed traffic in parts of the city on Monday, with traffic police reporting affected stretches towards Balagere and in several areas under HAL Airport traffic police limits. HAL Airport recorded 72 mm of rain in the 12 hours ending at 8.30 pm.
Waterlogging slows traffic towards Balagere
Whitefield Traffic Police reported slow movement on Vibgyor School Road towards Balagere T Junction because of waterlogging amid intermittent rain. Police asked motorists to drive cautiously, avoid abrupt braking and maintain lane discipline. The advisory listed 112 as the emergency number.

HAL police flag four affected areas
HAL Airport Traffic Police said heavy rain and severe waterlogging had slowed traffic at Spice Garden, Karthik Nagar, Devarabisanahalli and Kadubisanahalli. The advisory urged motorists to reduce speed and be patient.

Bellandur police issue wet-road safety advice
Bellandur Traffic Police warned of slippery roads as rain began in several places. Motorists were advised to control their speed, leave enough space between vehicles, avoid sudden braking and take alternative routes around waterlogged stretches.

Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) recorded 37.4 mm in the nine hours ending at 5.30 pm. Its reading covers a shorter period than the HAL Airport total.
