Bengaluru Police Swiftly Rescue 56-Year-Old Woman from 25-Foot Pit

Bengaluru: In a remarkable display of prompt action, the Hoysala patrol team from Chandra Layout Police Station executed a successful rescue operation for a 56-year-old woman who fell into a 25-foot-deep pit near a public park in Nagarabhavi during the early hours of March 6, 2026.

The incident unfolded when the woman’s son quickly contacted the 112 Emergency Helpline, triggering an immediate and coordinated response. Officers ASI Srinivas Murthy and Head Constable Vinoda were alerted and reached the scene in just four minutes, showcasing the efficiency of the police force.

The woman, identified as Sudha Parimala, found herself trapped in the pit and was struggling to climb back to safety. Disoriented and frightened, she was located using the GPS tracing of her mobile phone, which directed the officers to her exact position.

Utilizing an iron rope, the police initiated a careful rescue operation, successfully pulling her out of the deep pit. Following the ordeal, Sudha was promptly transferred to Aryan Hospital for medical treatment.

This incident highlights the swift response capability of Bengaluru City Police, part of the Safe City initiative, and underscores the critical role that vigilant citizens play by reporting emergencies without delay.
