Bengaluru Police Detain 200 Foreign Nationals in Operation Against Illegal Immigration

Bengaluru: In a significant crackdown on illegal immigration, the Bengaluru City Police have detained 200 foreign nationals, including 124 Bangladeshi citizens, during a special operation aimed at identifying individuals residing unlawfully within the city.

The operation was initiated under the directives of the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City, who instructed various police units to collate information on undocumented foreigners living in the area and to take appropriate legal measures against them.

At dawn on March 6, four special teams from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) executed a targeted operation within the jurisdictions of the Kadugodi and Varthur police stations. Officials discovered that 124 Bangladeshi nationals had constructed makeshift shelters and were living illegally in the vicinity.

Among those detained were 48 men, 42 women, and 34 children, as confirmed by police sources. The detainees are undergoing preliminary inquiries, with a comprehensive report submitted to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for further actions, including deportation processes.
