Bengaluru Police arrests Three for allegedly stocking, selling Remdesivir at higher rates

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested three people for allegedly stocking and selling the antiviral drug Remdesivir.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil revealed this on Sunday morning. He tweeted: “With reports emerging abt hoarding & blackmarketing of Remdesiver injection reqd for Covid treatment, CCB conducted drive across Bengaluru, arrested 3 accused,having illegal stock of the injection & selling at Rs 10,500, much higher than MRP.”

The arrested have been identified as Rajesh, Shakeeb and Sohail.

As per cops, Rajesh and Shakeeb were running a pharmacy named Gurushree Medicals in Suddaguntepalya police station limits. The case against Sohail has been filed at Madiwala police station.

The raid comes after, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai directed cops to conduct statewide raids to stop black marketing and stocking Remdesivir to sell it at inflated prices.
