BENGALURU: Sixteen patients were relocated following a fire at a private hospital near Bengaluru. The incident occurred at a three-story building in Rajanakunte, prompting fire officials to take action. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The fire department received a call about the fire at 9:15 am, leading to the deployment of six fire tenders. The fire originated in a lab in the basement of the 50-bed hospital. While the fire did not spread beyond the basement, thick smoke filled the entire building, causing panic among patients, staff, and visitors.
All 16 patients, including two in the ICU, were swiftly transferred to the nearest hospital. Despite complaints of uneasiness and suffocation due to the smoke, all patients are in stable condition.
By 11 am, the fire was extinguished, and investigations into the cause are ongoing. The quick response of the fire department ensured the safety of all individuals involved in the incident.
