Bengaluru: Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said on Sunday that the Karnataka government would take appropriate action if private institutions were found deliberately sidelining Kannadigas, amid complaints about job opportunities in Bengaluru’s IT companies.
He described complaints of injustice to Kannadigas in IT employment as disappointing and said the government had taken seriously complaints that people whose mother tongue is Kannada were being overlooked.

Action conditional on deliberate exclusion being found
Shivakumar said the government would protect Kannadigas’ rights, dignity and opportunities. His assurance of action was conditional on deliberate exclusion being established.
Describing Bengaluru as India’s technology capital in the eyes of the world, he expressed pride in Kannadigas’ talent, skills and capabilities, and said the government remained committed to responding to their concerns.
