BENGALURU:
A doctor treating a Covid-19 patient in Bengaluru city has tested positive, creating panic amongst the medical fraternity.
The infected doctor, 32, has been listed as Patient 208. A resident of Bengaluru, he was treating Patient 196 and is himself now in a a hospital.
As per the health department’s bulletin, the infected doctor is among 8 new cases reported in Karnataka on Saturday, taking the state’s tally to 215.
The Nanjangud pharmaceutical company remains a major hotspot in Mysuru district with 5 fresh cases — all contacts of a staffer who was infected.
Apart from the doctor, details of the other cases are:
# Patient 209: 46, male, resident of Mysuru and contact of Patient 88 (pharma company staffer), He is being treated at a hospital in Mysuru..
# Patient 210: 43, male, resident of Mysuru and contact of Patient 88. He is being treated at a Mysuru hospital.
# Patient 211: 50, female, resident of Bidar and contact of Patient 122 (brother’s wife). She is being treated at a hospital in Bidar.
# Patient 212: 27, male, resident of Mysuru, and contact of Patient 88. He is being treated at a hospital in Mysuru.
# Patient 213: 31, male, and contact of Patient 88. He is being treated at a hospital in Mysuru.
# Patient 214: 26, male, and contact of Patient 88. He is being treated at a hospital in Mysuru.
# Patient 215: 10 year-old male, Bengaluru, contact of Patient 92 (son).
