BENGALURU:
The CCB Narcotics Squad has successfully apprehended seven drug peddlers and seized drugs worth Rs 1.66 crore from the suspects.
Over the course of a week, the CCB police conducted operations in various parts of the city, resulting in the registration of five cases against the arrested individuals. Raids were carried out in Girinagar, Madiwala, Chikkajala, RT Nagar Baiyappanahalli. The seized items include 18.5 kg of ganja, 203 grams of MDMA, 410 x tsi pills, 7 mobile phones, 2 motorcycles, and 1 car.
In a separate incident, the CCB’s Anti-Narcotics Squad confiscated Rs 12 lakhs from a Nigerian drug peddler named Peter. The money was seized under the powers granted by Section 5(A) and 68(E) and 68(F) of the NDPS Act. Peter was arrested by the Vidyaranya police in 2023.
Furthermore, a total of 7 bank accounts, including Peter’s wife’s account, have been confiscated. Peter arrived in India in 2018 on a medical visa and married Yuvai from Manipur in 2022. He holds two bank accounts in his wife’s name in the city. It has been discovered that Peter conducted transactions through UPI payment methods.
