Bengaluru: A shocking incident of customer violence was caught on CCTV at a popular Bengaluru café, Nama Filter Coffee, where a staff member was brutally assaulted after refusing to provide an extra cup to a customer. The attack took place around 6:50 p.m. on Thursday evening in Sheshadripuram.
According to CCTV footage, a group of individuals who had purchased coffee at the café demanded an additional cup. When the staffer cited company policy and declined the request, the confrontation quickly escalated. The employee was verbally abused, struck on the head, punched in the face, and kicked in the stomach. The disturbing visuals have since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread condemnation.
The Sheshadripuram Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the assault. Officers confirmed that an altercation broke out over the denial of an extra cup, which led to physical violence. “It started as a verbal spat but quickly turned into a serious assault,” a senior officer said.
Authorities have assured that the culprits will be brought to justice and that strict action will be taken to ensure safety in public service spaces. Meanwhile, the injured staffer is said to be recovering from his injuries. The café management is cooperating with the police in the investigation.
