Bengaluru: To accommodate the increased passenger demand during the Independence Day holiday, the South Western Railway (SWR) has announced a one-time special express train service between Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru and Bidar.
According to a press release issued by Dr. Manjunath Kanamadi, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Western Railway, the special train service will operate as follows:
- Train No. 06519 SMVT Bengaluru – Bidar Express Special will depart SMVT Bengaluru at 9:15 PM on August 14, 2025 (Thursday) and reach Bidar at 11:30 AM on August 15 (Friday).
- Train No. 06520 Bidar – SMVT Bengaluru Express Special will operate in the return direction, departing Bidar at 2:30 PM on August 15 and arriving at SMVT Bengaluru at 4:30 AM on August 16 (Saturday).
Both trains will halt at the following intermediate stations: Yelahanka, Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal, Adoni, Mantralayam Road, Raichur, Krishna, Yadgir, Wadi, Shahabad, Kalaburagi, and Humnabad.
The special train will consist of 22 coaches, including 20 Second Class Sleeper coaches and 2 Second Class Luggage-cum-Disabled coaches, catering to budget-conscious and differently-abled travelers.
Passengers are encouraged to book their tickets early to avoid last-minute rush. This move is part of Indian Railways’ efforts to ensure smooth travel during festive and holiday seasons.
