Cop guarding madrassa infected
BENGALURU:
A Belagavi woman who died on April 13 has been confirmed as a Covid case, taking the death toll in Karnataka to 12.
Wednesday witnessed the highest spike of 19 cases with Mysuru district topping the table due to the fresh cases from the pharma company ‘hotspot’.
The 80-year-old woman from Hirebagewadi village in Belagavi taluk was a primary contact of patient 224. She is now listed as patient 279.
After her death on April 13, her swab samples were sent for tests and returned positive. Her contact, patient 224, was a contact of a Tablighi Jamaat returnee who is patient 128.
Nanjangud cluster…
On Wednesday, nine cases were reported from the Nanjangud cluster. As per the media bulletin of the health department, patients 264 to 272 are working in the pharmacy company and all are admitted at a Mysuru hospital.
Cop infected…
Meanwhile, a cop deputed to a madrassa in Mudhol of Bagalkot district has been infected. The infected cop, a 39-year-old male and resident of Jamkhandi has been admitted to a Bagalkot hospital.
Bengaluru reported 2 cases, Vijayapura 3 cases, and one year old male from Kalaburagi district has been admitted to a hospital with influenza-like symptoms.
