Bengaluru, July 8: Taking its anti-drug message to one of the city’s busiest entertainment districts, Bengaluru City Police, in association with the Karnataka State Police, conducted an extensive awareness campaign along M.G. Road and Church Street, urging citizens to stay away from narcotic substances with the message “Beda Bro”.

Sharing details of the initiative on X, Bengaluru City Police said the campaign reached out to citizens, visitors, pub owners and pub staff, encouraging them to join hands in preventing drug abuse and creating a drug-free Bengaluru.

The police said the campaign was aimed at increasing public awareness about the dangers of narcotic drugs and the importance of community participation in identifying and preventing drug-related activities.

According to another post shared by the Karnataka State Police, the initiative was organised as part of the “Anti-Drug Awareness & Public Participation Campaign – 2026,” bringing together law enforcement agencies, businesses and members of the public to strengthen awareness against substance abuse.

During the campaign, police personnel interacted with visitors and business establishments in the M.G. Road–Church Street area, highlighting the physical, mental and social consequences of drug abuse while appealing to people to reject drugs before they destroy lives.

With the slogan “Beda Bro” taking centre stage, the campaign urged young people to make informed choices and stay away from narcotics. Police also appealed to commercial establishments, including pubs and restaurants, to support efforts aimed at preventing drug consumption and reporting any suspicious activities.

Bengaluru City Police reiterated that the fight against drugs requires active public participation and appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in making the city safer and drug-free.
