BBMP: IRS officer Shivananda Kalakeri has been appointed as the Special Commissioner (Finance)
Shortly after TheBengaluruLive’s report on ‘Big Surprise by DK Shivakumar: Eight Fresh IAS Officers to Assume Roles as Zonal Joint Commissioners”, the Karnataka Government has taken action by transferring an IRS officer and appointing another IRS officer to address financial issues within the civic body.
BENGALURU:
IRS officer Shivananda Kalakeri has been appointed as the Special Commissioner (Finance) for the BBMP, replacing Jayaram Raipura. This transfer took place shortly after TheBengaluruLive reported on DK Shivakumar’s surprising announcement regarding the appointment of eight fresh IAS officers as Zonal Joint Commissioners and three to four Special Commissioners to oversee BBMP alongside the Chief Commissioner.
Shivananda Kalakeri, holding IRS designation 07092, now assumes the responsibility of overseeing financial matters within the civic body. Previously, he served as the Special Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar in Belagavi.
Additionally, Dr. Deepak RL, another IRS officer with designation 02051, has been transferred from his role as Special Commissioner (Revenue) and appointed as the Zonal Commissioner for BBMP’s West Zone. These developments mark the Karnataka Government’s efforts to address financial issues within the BBMP and reorganize its administrative structure.
