Gaurav Gupta tells BWSSB, Bescom to restore Yeshwanthpur roads dug up for laying utilities
BENGALURU:
Continuing with his spot inspection of various civic works, BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta on Thursday visited places in the Yeshwanthpur assembly constituency and instructed civic officials to list roads with an existing DLP (defect liability period) and ensure that the contractors concerned undertake repairs. Gupta said that roads which have been dug up by BWSSB and Bescom should be fixed immediately.
Yeshwanthpur assembly constituency covers 5 civic wards and 19 civic villages. Water supply and sewage connection work in these areas should be completed as soon as possible, while Bescom should complete its underground cabling work soon, Gupta said.
The civic chief pointed to sinkholes near the Metro columns on Kengeri road and UGD chambers near the Metro line which need to be fixed.
Hosakere lake woes
The 43.3 acre Hosakere lake In Herohalli ward of Gandhinagar was handed over by BDA to BBMP in 2019. The lake’s bunds are overflowing and sewage water is entering the lake. BDA and BWSSB should fix these issues, Gupta said.
Doddabommasandra roads
After a spot check of the roads in the Doddabommasandra ward, the civic chief observed that works on the Andarahalli main road near Vidyanagar, Kaveri 5th block, have been completed, but the road is still not repaired. Gupta called up the BWSSB Executive Engineer in this regard.
