Sensitise Bengalureans on preventing sewage from entering storm water drains: Gupta
BENGALURU:
Chairing a review meeting on Tuesday of various works in the Bengaluru South assembly constituency, BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta asked officials of Bescom, BWSSB and BMRCL to speed up work on road repairs and potholes filling.
BWSSB officials were instructed to submit a report on completed ward-level work to the Palike, following which BBMP would repair the roads. Gupta asked BWSSB to complete work on drinking water supply to every house, Bescom to complete the laying of underground cables, and BMRCL to repair roads damaged during Metro construction.

In areas where roads are damaged, officials should check the DLP (defects liability period) status before the repair work is entrusted to the contractors concerned or to the Palike. he said.
On the issue of domestic sewage entering storm water drains, the civic chief suggested that BBMP and the water board could join hands to create public awareness on the issue.

Bannerghatta road asphalting
Gupta, along with Bengaluru South MLA M Krishnappa, visited the stretch of Bannerghatta Road from the NICE road to the Meenakshi temple on the Gottigere main road, and called for immediate asphalting of the stretch.
Among those present at the meeting were M Krishnappa, Zonal Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar, Joint Commissioner Ramakrishna, Executive Engineer Shashi Kumar, and Bescom, BWSSB and BMRCL officials.
