Bengaluru: BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has set a March 2026 deadline for the completion of the Ejipura flyover, directing officials to ramp up progress and meet key milestones without delay.
During an inspection visit on Thursday to the segment casting yard at Sakalavara village on Bannerghatta Road, Maheshwar Rao reviewed the ongoing precast segment production and urged officials to expedite casting and installation to meet year-end targets.
The 2.38-km flyover, being built on Ejipura Main Road, requires 762 segments, of which 437 have been installed. The remaining 325 segments are pending. Rao has instructed that at least 45 segments be completed and installed each month to maintain momentum.
He emphasized completing the segment phase by December 2025, noting that night-time work (11 PM to 5 AM) is helping mitigate traffic congestion in the area. Rao also instructed that ramp construction begin immediately near St. John’s Hospital and St. John’s Hostel, now that land acquisition issues have been resolved.
Chief Engineer Dr. Raghavendra Prasad confirmed that all technical designs are finalized and that an execution strategy is in place to ensure timely delivery of the project. Pedestrian pathway work is nearing completion, asphalt laying beneath the structure is in progress, and shoulder drains and median work are ongoing.
The inspection was also attended by Executive Engineer Chandrashekar and other senior BBMP officials.
