BENGALURU:

The Bengaluru Central division police on Saturday arrested four persons for the Thursday night killing of bar owner Manish Shetty (45) off Brigade Road.

The accused are Somvarpet, Kodagu resident Shashikiran alias Munna (45), Nitya (29), Mangaluru resident Ganesha (39), and Bantwala resident Akshay (32).

All the accused were arrested on Saturday at 11.30 am from a lodge in Gandhinagar.

“During the course of the interrogation, the police team took Shashikiran and Akshay to Barlane cemetery (Hosur Road) to recover the machetes used in the crime,” DCP (Central) Anuchet said.

“At around 6.30 pm, both the accused tried to assault the police team and the police fired at them in self-defence,” DCP Anuchet said. He added that both A1 and A4 sustained injuries in the incident and were admitted to St Philomena’s Hospital.
