Bannerghatta Biological Park Opens Zoo Club 2026-27 for Students Aged 10-18; Free Registration for Government School Children
Bengaluru: Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) has announced Zoo Club 2026-27, a 15-week programme for students aged 10 to 18 aimed at introducing young participants to nature, wildlife, animal care and conservation through a combination of classroom sessions and field visits.
The programme will be conducted on Sundays beginning October 4, 2026, with each session scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm. Participation has been capped at 60 students, and registrations will close once all 60 places are filled.
Zoo Club will cover captive management, in situ and ex situ conservation, animal care, animal behaviour and welfare. The programme will include both theory classes and field visits, giving students an opportunity to learn about wildlife and conservation beyond a classroom setting.
Participants will also get opportunities to interact with experts working in the field. According to BBP, the programme is intended to help young people connect with nature and wildlife and encourage them to contribute to conservation.
The club will also introduce participants to career possibilities in nature and wildlife conservation, allowing students to interact with specialists and gain exposure to the different areas of work associated with conservation and animal management.
The registration fee is ₹1,000. However, BBP has waived the registration fee for children studying in government schools, allowing eligible government school students to participate without paying the fee.
The deadline for registration is October 1, 2026. Since the programme has a maximum intake of 60 students, the application form will be closed earlier if all available places are filled before the deadline.
