BELAGAVI:

A tragic road accident took place in Belagavi near Devagiri Bambaraga Cross involving a car and a tipper. Sadly, both individuals, Mohan Maruthi Belgaonkar (24) from Bambaraga village and Samiksha Dayekar (12) from Macche village, lost their lives in the accident.

They were returning home after attending a wedding of their relatives. Mahesh Belgaonkar and Sneha Belgundkar sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.

The accident occurred at night while the car was on its way to Bambaraga village. The collision between the car and the tipper happened near Bambaraga Cross, causing the tipper’s diesel tank to burst into flames. Tragically, two out of the four occupants in the car were burnt alive and suffered serious injuries.

Upon receiving the information, firefighters promptly arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. DCP Sneha, and Kakati station police visited the site to conduct an investigation.

The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to Bims Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. The tipper driver surrendered to the police station immediately after the accident, and a case has been registered at Kakati police station.
