The ruling BJP leaders in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) are confused over forming a expert committee to select genuine a list of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Awardees.
Last year, the congress-JDS had formed a committee by restricting the awardees number to 71, also adding few awardees in the name of Lakshmidevi, daughter-in-law of Kempegowda and few media personals taking the awardees number to 131.
The first preliminary meeting which held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Mayor M Goutham Kumar, could not take decision on forming a expert committee to select genuine awardees.
The meeting was chaired by BJPs ruling party leader KV Muneendra Kumar, opposition leader Abdul Wajid, JDS party leader Netra Narayan. Wajid told TBL that he suggested to form a committee to cut down the aspirants list but it seems BJP is in different mode. Moreover it is decided to take another call during after March 10 to restrict numbers of awardees.
The Kempegowda Day celebration will be held on August 8.
