Parwez, a native of Bihar, will be seventh MD of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation

Anjum Parwez, Principal Secretary in the Karnataka government and a 1994 batch IAS officer, is all set to become Namma Metro’s managing director.
With his appointment due to be cleared soon by the Centre, Parvez will be the seventh officer to head BMRCL (Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd).
Sources close in the state bureaucracy told TheBengaluruLive that a proposal has been sent to the Union government, which is expected to be cleared anytime soon.
V Madhu was the first officer to head BMRCL as MD. He was followed by N Sivasailam, Pradeep Singh Kharola and Ajay Seth, while Mahendra Jain has held concurrent charge as its MD. Currently, Additional Chief Secretary Rakesh Singh is holding concurrent charge as Metro MD.
Who is Anjum Parwez
Parwez hails from Patna, the capital of Bihar. He passed out of IIT-Delhi and joined the IAS in 1994. He is currently posted as Principal Secretary in the Transport Department and also holds the post of Principal Secretary in the Department of Information and Public Relations.
He has earlier been posted as Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, Managing Director at KBJNL, Principal Secretary, Department of Personnel, Secretary, Urban Development Department, Chairman, BWSSB, Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration, MD of BMTC, Deputy Commissioner, Gulbarga and Chief Executive Officer, Belagavi.
