TheBengaluruLive’s prediction nearly a week ago of Anjum Parwez getting overall charge of Namma Metro has hit the bull’s eye! On Wednesday, the Union government gave its nod for the appointment of the 1994 batch IAS officer as Managing Director of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
Wednesday’s appointment order, a copy of which was accessed by TheBengaluruLive, says that Anjum Parwez is appointed as full-time Managing Director of BMRCL.


“The Government of India concurs to the proposal of Government of Karnataka (GoK) for appointment of Anjum Parwez, IAS (KN: 1994), as Managing Director, BMRCL,” the order reads.

GoI stipulation
The order also informs the state government that as per the conditions of sanction of the Bengaluru Metro rail project, the full-time Managing Director shall be removed/transferred only with the prior consent of Gol. The Managing Director shall not be given any other/additional assignment by GoK without the prior consent of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the order reads.
