Amity: Eshwarappa, Jarkiholi garland Rayanna, Shivaji statues
BELAGAVI:
Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa, along with Belagavi district in-charge minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, garlanded the statues of Shivaji Maharaj and Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna in Peranavadi on Saturday.
The Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Ananda Mamani, and Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi were also present.

“Both Shivaji and Rayanna are national figures and cannot be confined to any caste. We pay tribute to both of them,” Jarkiholi said. He added that both sides had cooperated and hence the problem was resolved peacefully.
He said, “I will talk to the Chief Minister about the withdrawal of cases that have been registered in connection with the row over the statue of Rayanna. The DC will send a proposal to the government to authorize the statue of Rayanna.”
