All-Women Crew Drives Vande Bharat from Bengaluru to Mysuru on Women’s Day

Bengaluru: Marking International Women’s Day, the Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway celebrated the occasion by operating Train No. 20607 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Mysuru Vande Bharat Express with an all-women crew between Bengaluru and Mysuru.

The special initiative showcased the growing participation of women in key operational roles within Indian Railways. On the occasion, Balla Sivaparvathi served as the Loco Pilot, Aswathi S. Nair as the Assistant Loco Pilot, and Priyadarshini as the Train Manager (Guard) of the Vande Bharat Express.

The train was ceremonially flagged off by Priya, Senior Divisional Operations Manager; Uma Sharma, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer (Coordination); Nivedita Balaraddiyavar, Divisional Commercial Manager; and Akhil Mattu, Divisional Electrical Engineer (Traction Operations).

To commemorate the occasion, women staff members and women passengers travelling on the train were greeted with rose buds, celebrating the achievements, dedication, and growing role of women in the railway sector and society at large.
