All swimming pools to be closed

As a precautionary measure to tackle the corona virus scare, BBMP has ordered the shutdown of all swimming pools in the city.

On Sunday, BBMP commissioner BH Anil Kumar tweeted: “To isolate and contain the Covid-19 spread, the corporation has advised that all apartment complexes within BBMP limits close swimming pools with immediate effect. This step is very important as they are being used by children who can be most vulnerable.”

The announcement followed a request by a citizen, Prashanth Sambargi, to BBMP to close down all swimming pools.
