Measure will run for a week from March 22
New Delhi
According to a Central government notification, no scheduled international commercial airliner will be allowed to land in India, beginning March 22, for a period of one week.
The move indicates the urgency with which the Centre is addressing the likelihood of Covid-19 spreading even further in the country.
Previously, it had announced the suspension of all visas for passengers from Covid-19 affected countries, including the EU, the UK and several Gulf countries.
Among other steps, the Centre has cancelled all concessional railway and air tickets, except for students, patients and handicapped persons.
As per the notification, all Central govt group B and C employees will attend office on alternate weeks and have staggered timings.
