After Yediyurappa, Siddaramaiah gets infected
Former CM in Manipal Hospital, stable
BENGALURU:
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa now has a Covid wardmate in Manipal Hospital — none other than former Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah.
The former CM was admitted to the hospital around midnight on Monday with high fever due to a urinary tract infection.
At 8.05 am he tweeted: “I have been tested positive for #Covid19 & also been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors as a precaution…”
“…I request all those who had come in contact with me to check out for symptoms & to quarantine themselves.”

Siddaramiah’s son, MLA Dr Yathindra, tweeted: “Father had fever since yesterday morning and was hospitalized overnight. Corona antigen test has confirmed that he has been infected with virus. I appeal to those who have recently come in contact with him to quarantine.”
ನಿನ್ನೆ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆಯಿಂದ ತಂದೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಜ್ವರ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದ್ದರು. Corona antigen test ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೊರೋನ ಸೋಂಕು ತಗುಲಿರುವುದು ಧೃಢಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಅವರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದವರು quarantine ಆಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.

Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar prayed for the speedy recovery of both, tweeting: “I came to know that former chief minister Siddaramiah is infected with covid. He is the ideal statesman the state has seen. I am praying to God that they (Yediyurappa and Siddaramaiah) will recover soon…”
“… I am in constant contact with the doctors of Manipal Hospital. Both are stable in their health. The people of the state need not worry. Wish CM BSY and former CM recover soon and return to duty as usual…”, he concluded.

Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy tweeted: “I was upset when I heard that Opposition leader Siddaramaiah came in contact with the coronavirus. I pray to the Lord for a speedy recovery…”
“… I appeal to the people who are actively engaged in public activities to follow the most precautionary measures. In the wake of the widespread coronavirus infection, I appeal to the public to maintain social distance and to protect valuable life and lives by adopting disciplined living,” Kumaraswamy concluded.

‘Siddaramaiah stable’
Manipal Hospital’s morning health bulletin said Siddaramaiah’s condition is stable. Manipal Hospital’s chairman Dr Sudarshan Ballal said: “Honourable leader of opposition and former Chief Minister of Karnataka Mr Siddaramiah is admitted to Manipal Hospital for evaluation of fever and the antigen test for COVID -19 is positive. He is doing well and is stable currently. He is undergoing appropriate evaluation and management by a multidisciplinary team of doctors.”
