Accused attacks cops, shot in leg

BENGALURU:

A man who was arrested on Wednesday for overspeeding in the Sanjaynagar police limits was shot in the leg when he tried to escape. The incident happened when the police took Tajoddin, a resident of North Bengaluru, for a spot ‘mahajar’.

According to the police, he threw bricks at the cops, hurting two of them. He was shifted to Baptist hospital for treatment.

Earlier on Wednesday, the accused and his associates attacked policemen who tried to stop them from overspeeding and performing wheelies near the checkpost at Bhoopasandra.
