On Thursday, the Russian rouble remained steady against the U.S. dollar, while slightly weakening against the Chinese yuan. The currency had previously rallied on optimism over a peace settlement in Ukraine. At 0940 GMT, it was at 86.90 against the dollar, its highest level since August, and weakened by 0.3% to 11.98 against the yuan, the most traded foreign currency in Russia.
