BENGALURU: JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy said that the Prajwal Revanna case was not small and the accused even if he is powerful should be dealt with seriousness.
JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy said, “I don’t consider this Prajwal Revanna case as a small case. However powerful that person is, he must be dealt with seriousness. I’m the first person to say that the culprit should be dealt with properly.”
DK Shivakumar had alleged that HD Kumaraswamy is behind the release of Prajwal Revanna’s pen drives.

Kumaraswamy further said, “It’s becoming necessary for me to call press meet at this time every day due to issues which govt and officials are doing in Prajwal and HD Revanna case. They’re (Congress) saying I released the pen drive, and I asked not to field Prajwal Revanna from Hassan. I don’t take the shield of Vokkaliga tag in this dirty Prajwal Revanna case. I never said I’m a Vokkaliga leader. Many are saying it’s a fight between DK Shivakumar and me for Vokkaliga leadership.”
He avoided reacting to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s allegation and said that he would answer to Shivakunar at the right time.
HD Kumaraswamy said, “Yes, I’m the producer, I’m the director, I’m the actor and everything. These kinds of stories come in movies, say something else. DK Shivakumar alleges that I’m behind all these episodes. Let him say whatever he wants, I’ll answer at the right time.”
JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy held a meeting of the leaders, party workers and MLAs in Bengaluru over the Prajwal Revanna and HD Revanna issues.
He said, “We have planned to give a memorandum to the Governor today at 3 pm over the SIT investigation. We have been saying from the first day itself that we don’t have any hope in the SIT investigation.”
He alleged that the ruling Congress government brought Vokkaliga leaders to fight against him but he never said that he was a Vokkaliga leader.
JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy said, “Many Vokkaliga leaders, including Ramalinga Reddy, Chaluvaraya Swamy, Krishna Byre Gowda and all ministers, are standing with the govt over the SIT investigation. This is what they do, they bring Vokkaliga leaders to fight against me.”
He questioned why the families of the victims, and kidnapped women were not being produced before the court.
JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy said, “As per my information they have brought the family of victims, kidnapped woman. Why haven’t they produced them before the court? Why have they been kept in some guest house? Why can’t the SIT give information about her appearance before the magistrate? Their intention is nothing but to keep HD Revanna in jail for three days.”
Earlier Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had said that BJP leader and lawyer, Devaraje Gowda and the BJP are behind the release of the pen drive.
“Devaraje Gowda had addressed a press conference some time back about the pen drive. He had said in the press conference that he would release the pen drive after holding discussions with the BJP leaders. When it is very evident that Devaraje Gowda and the BJP are behind the release of the pen drive, why are they trying to accuse me? The JDS and BJP leaders are behind this blame-shifting. I am currently travelling and I will give a statement on this once I am back in Bengaluru,” DK Shivakumar said.
Prajwal Revanna, the suspended Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leader is the incumbent MP from the Hassan constituency. He is seeking re-election as an NDA candidate from the same seat. Polling on the seat was completed on April 26.
HD Revanna and his son, Prajwal Revanna are facing a probe by a Special Investigative Team (SIT), constituted by the Karnataka government, over allegations of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation following a complaint by a woman who worked in their household.
HD Revanna is under Special Investigation Team (SIT) custody till May 8 in a kidnapping case linked to the “obscene video case”, while Prajwal Revanna is in another country. (ANI)
