DAVANAGERE: Two people died and four others were injured after the car in which they were travelling fell into a ditch beside the National Highway-48 near Hunasekatte village in the taluk on Monday.
Police said the driver lost control after which the car fell into the ditch. The deceased are Kotreshappa (65) of Harihara Sarathi village and Pushpa (55) of Hubballi. The occupants of the car were returning after attending a wedding in Chitradurga when the accident occurred.
The injured were shifted a private hospital in Davanagere. The Davanagere Rural police visited the spot and have registered a case.
