The unavailability of liquor during the nationwide lockdown has led to four persons in the state committing suicide.
Bhaskar, 40, a hotel employee, took the extreme step by jumping into a well at the fort in Bhalki town in Bidar district. He was reportedly depressed because he had not consumed alcohol for a week.

In Dakshina Kannada, two young men reportedly committed suicide as there was no alcohol available at the beach. Cases have been registered at the Kadapa police station.
Umesh Kadapa (46) of Dharwad committed suicide at Ganesh Park in Hosur, Hubli district. He was working as a watchman at Ratagal’s production house. A case has been registered at the Vidyanagar police station.
