BENGALURU:
The state government has decided to ‘trim the feathers’ of anti-CAA protestors by not allowing them to hold protests in front of the city’s iconic Town Hall.
This will happen with immediate effect as BBMP, which owns the Town Hall building, will request the police to deny permission for protests at the site.

The BBMP council, led by mayor M Goutham Kumar, passed a resolution asking the city police commissioner to implement it with immediate effect.
A copy of the resolution accessed by thebengalurulive reads: “The Town Hall is booked to hold public functions by making advance payment to the BBMP. But it has become an obstacle to the organisers as it has become a protest point for which nobody takes any permission. The state government has already allocated Freedom Park as the place to hold protests, and hence the BBMP commissioner is directed to write to the police department to not allow protests in front of Town Hall.”
Meanwhile a delegation under the leadership of Karnataka Dalit sangharsh samiti’s president Dr CS Raghu met Mayor and demanded to withdraw it’s decision. Further it suggested to concentrate on various other issues instead snatching rights of tax payers.
