Bengaluru, June 8: In a major technology upgrade initiative under Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) Phase-II, BESCOM has announced that its online consumer services will remain unavailable in 20 town areas between June 10 and June 30, 2026.

According to a BESCOM notification, the utility is migrating from the existing TRM software to the IPDS IT Application, which is already operational in urban areas under BESCOM’s jurisdiction. The new platform will now be extended to 20 IPDS town areas.

As part of the data migration process, several online services will remain suspended for 21 days. Services affected include:

  • New electricity connections
  • Name transfer requests
  • Load enhancement applications
  • Online consumer service requests
  • Other BESCOM online services

However, consumers will continue to be able to pay electricity bills through third-party payment platforms such as Google Pay, PhonePe and other digital payment gateways.

The temporary suspension of online services will impact consumers in the following towns: Bagepalli, Devanahalli, Gudibande, Magadi, Malur, Nelamangala, Srinivaspur, Vijayapura, Channagiri, Chikkanayakanahalli, Gubbi, Holalkere, Honnali, Hosadurga, Jagaluru, Koratagere, Madhugiri, Molakalmuru, Pavagada and Turuvekere.

BESCOM stated that suspending the existing TRM application in these subdivisions is necessary to facilitate the rollout of the new IPDS IT Application and ensure smooth integration of consumer data.

The power utility has appealed to consumers in the affected towns to cooperate during the transition period and expressed confidence that the upgraded platform will improve service delivery and operational efficiency in the long run.

BESCOM further clarified that the temporary disruption is part of a broader modernization initiative aimed at strengthening digital electricity services across its jurisdiction.
