Belagavi: Belagavi Deputy Commissioner and IAS officer Mohammad Roshan has appealed to journalists visiting the Deputy Commissioner’s office to preferably use two-wheelers instead of cars, citing severe parking constraints within the premises.

Speaking during a media interaction, the Deputy Commissioner acknowledged that journalists have been facing parking difficulties at the DC office and assured that a dedicated solution is being worked out.

Dedicated Parking Passes for Media

Roshan said the administration plans to introduce a special parking pass system exclusively for media personnel.

“We will issue passes to media persons and designate a separate area exclusively for media parking,” he said.

However, he added that the office currently lacks sufficient space even for official staff vehicles.

Space Crunch at DC Office

Explaining the seriousness of the parking issue, Mohammad Roshan said even government officers are struggling to find parking space inside the office premises.

According to data collected by the administration: Around 35 cars And nearly 75 two-wheelers are required just for office staff members.

“We simply do not have that much parking space available,” he stated.

Appeal to Journalists

The Deputy Commissioner made a direct appeal to journalists covering administrative activities at the DC office.

“Whenever possible, please try to come on two-wheelers while visiting the DC office,” Roshan requested.

He said the move would help ease congestion and improve parking management within the government complex.

Parking Solution Expected Soon

Roshan assured media representatives that the issue would be resolved soon and sought around ten days’ time to implement the new parking arrangement.

The Deputy Commissioner’s remarks came during a press interaction related to an ongoing alleged financial fraud investigation in Belagavi.
