Bengaluru: Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal promoting fuel conservation and greater use of public transport, Karnataka BJP President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra travelled by Bengaluru Metro on Friday.
Vijayendra travelled from Majestic to Kengeri using the Metro network as part of the initiative encouraging reduced fuel consumption and increased reliance on public transportation.
Bengaluru North District BJP President S. Harish was also present during the Metro journey.
The move comes amid growing public and political discussions surrounding fuel conservation, rising petrol and diesel prices and the need for sustainable urban transportation.
