Bengaluru: A swift and compassionate intervention by a Bengaluru City Police constable has saved a life after a man attempted suicide on a railway track in Yelahanka, part of the North-East Division. The Police Control Room received an alert about an individual lying on the tracks, prompting immediate action from Head Constable Sridhar Murthy (HC-13669), who was on patrol duty.
Upon arriving at the scene, Constable Murthy successfully rescued the man, preventing a potential tragedy. He provided emotional support and guidance, helping the individual understand that suicide is not a solution to life’s challenges. Additionally, Murthy contacted the man’s family to ensure he was safely returned to them.
Police officials have praised the constable’s quick thinking, dedication, and compassionate approach, highlighting that his timely intervention not only saved a life but also exemplifies citizen-centric policing.
