Bengaluru Police Warn Landlords on Foreign Tenants, Visa & Form-C Checks Intensified Across City
Bengaluru, February 27: Bengaluru City Police have intensified verification of foreign nationals residing in the city and urged landlords to immediately inform local police stations if they notice any suspicious activity involving tenants from abroad.
Addressing media persons on Friday, Seemanth Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City, said that Deputy Commissioners of Police across all divisions, including the Central Crime Branch (CCB), are conducting systematic checks of visa validity, Form-C submissions and other mandatory documentation of foreign nationals residing in different parts of the city.
He stated that area-wise verification is being carried out using live surveillance cameras to ensure that the process does not inconvenience the general public.
The Commissioner emphasised that it is mandatory for house owners to submit Form-C details of foreign tenants to the jurisdictional police station. Authorities will initiate legal action against foreign nationals found overstaying visas or residing without valid documentation.
Police are also examining whether any foreign nationals are involved in unlawful activities. Stressing the importance of maintaining law and order, the Commissioner appealed to citizens and landlords to cooperate with the verification drive.
The city police have reiterated that timely reporting by property owners will help prevent misuse of residential premises and ensure compliance with immigration regulations.
