Bengaluru: Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed the contractor to complete the long-pending Ejipura flyover project by the end of July, setting a strict deadline and ordering round-the-clock construction to accelerate progress.
During an inspection of various development works under the GBA limits, Rao instructed the contractor to deploy additional machinery and manpower and execute multiple construction activities simultaneously to ensure timely completion.
The piling work near St. Johnโs, which had faced earlier hurdles in pillar installation, has now commenced. Officials have been directed to complete the piling work within 15 days. Rao also instructed that pile cap construction and pillar erection be carried out in parallel, along with superstructure segment casting, to speed up overall progress.
To maintain momentum, the contractor has been told to make full logistical preparations and operate 24 hours a day until the flyover is completed within the stipulated timeline.
Special focus has also been placed on the Madivala-side down ramp, which must be expedited. Rao directed officials to obtain traffic police approval for partial road closures to facilitate stormwater pipeline works. He further instructed authorities to secure required land from Central Sadan and the Astrophysics premises to construct pedestrian pathways and to accelerate ramp works near the Ejipura signal.
Noting potholes along the grade-level road beneath the flyover, Rao ordered immediate safety measures, including prompt filling of road craters to prevent accidents.
Bengaluru civic officials, including Commissioner Ramesh K.N., Chief Engineers Ravi and Dr. Raghavendra Prasad, and other senior engineers, were present during the inspection.
The renewed push signals an aggressive timeline to complete one of Bengaluruโs key urban mobility projects amid mounting public pressure over infrastructure delays.
