Karnataka & Goa NCC Wins Prime Minister’s Banner for Second Straight Year, Creates History at RDC-2026

Bengaluru, January 29, 2026: The NCC Directorate Karnataka and Goa has scripted history by winning the prestigious Prime Minister’s Banner and Trophy for the second consecutive year at the recently concluded Republic Day Camp–2026 (RDC-2026) in New Delhi, emerging as the overall Champion Directorate among 17 NCC Directorates across the country.

The rare back-to-back triumph highlights the Directorate’s sustained excellence, discipline, and superior training standards, setting it apart at the national level.

Outstanding All-Round Performance

During RDC-2026, cadets from the Karnataka and Goa Directorate delivered exceptional performances in drill, firing, and cultural competitions, decisively outperforming 16 other Directorates. Their consistent dominance across competitive and ceremonial events played a crucial role in securing the top honour.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the Prime Minister’s Banner and Trophy is awarded to the NCC Directorate that demonstrates consistent all-round excellence throughout the training year. Evaluation parameters include:

  • Performance in centrally organised camps and competitions
  • Standards of discipline
  • Results in NCC certificate examinations
  • Number of cadets inducted into the Armed Forces

Dominance Across National-Level Camps

Continuing its winning streak during the current training year, the Karnataka and Goa Directorate secured first position in multiple prestigious national events, including:

  • Inter Directorate Shooting Championship
  • All India Vayu Sainik Camp
  • All India Nau Sainik Camp
  • Idea & Innovation Competition
  • Republic Day Camp–2026

This comprehensive success reaffirmed the Directorate’s leadership across all domains of NCC training.

Prime Minister’s Rally Recognition

The Prime Minister’s Banner was formally received by Air Commodore S. B. Arunkumar, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate Karnataka and Goa, during the Prime Minister’s Rally held at the Field Marshal Cariappa Parade Ground, New Delhi, on January 28, 2026, marking the grand culmination of RDC-2026.

Leadership Speaks

Reacting to the achievement, Air Commodore S. B. Arunkumar said:

“Being crowned the Champion Directorate for the second consecutive year is a testament to the professionalism, resilience, and never-say-die spirit of our cadets and staff. This success is the outcome of collective hard work, meticulous training, and unwavering dedication.”

He also acknowledged the strong support of the Karnataka and Goa State Governments, along with universities and educational institutions across both states, stating that their cooperation played a pivotal role in achieving this historic milestone.

A Benchmark for the Nation

With this unprecedented second consecutive win, the NCC Directorate Karnataka and Goa has set a national benchmark in youth leadership, discipline, and military preparedness, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most consistently high-performing NCC Directorates in India.
