Bengaluru: Incidents of road rage continue to rise alarmingly in Bengaluru, with the latest case reported from the Baiyappanahalli police station limits, where a delivery executive was brutally assaulted by two bike riders following a minor traffic-related dispute.

The incident occurred on Kaggadasapura Main Road, near the 29th Cross Road, when the delivery executive—working for an app-based grocery platform—was riding an electric two-wheeler. According to eyewitnesses, the trouble began when the delivery boy allegedly slowed down his vehicle, which the bike riders accused of “blocking” their way.

What started as a verbal altercation soon turned violent. The two bike riders reportedly rammed into the delivery boy’s vehicle, causing him to fall on the road. Even after he fell, the attackers kicked and punched him repeatedly, displaying shocking aggression. The victim sustained bleeding injuries near the eye, while passers-by rushed in and attempted to intervene.

Locals questioned the attackers, following which the bike riders fled the scene. The entire assault, lasting around one-and-a-half to two minutes, was captured on CCTV cameras and mobile phones of bystanders. The video has since gone viral on social media, triggering public outrage.

Police sources confirmed that a case has been registered, and Baiyappanahalli police are scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the accused. A search operation is currently underway.

Residents of the locality said the stretch has become accident-prone, citing poor road design, lack of proper signage, no reflectors or traffic signals, and heavy daily traffic from early morning till late night. Locals claimed that accidents are reported almost every day, but corrective measures are yet to be taken by the authorities.

With yet another road rage incident coming to light, citizens have raised serious concerns over growing intolerance, reckless driving, and lack of fear of law on Bengaluru’s roads, urging strict action against offenders to deter such violent behaviour.

Police have assured that the accused will be arrested soon and warned that road rage and mob-style assaults will not be tolerated.
