Bengaluru Central City Commissioner Rajendra Cholan, who visited multiple locations around 7 am to inspect the ongoing efforts, said collective cleanliness initiatives are essential for building a healthy urban environment. He instructed all officials to remain proactive and ensure continuous improvement in sanitation practices across the region.

During inspections at Indiranagar Double Road, 100 Feet Road, and St. John’s Road in Shivajinagar, the Commissioner directed officials to remove abandoned vehicles, unused roadside carts, shop extensions, and other obstacles affecting pedestrian pathways and street hygiene.

At an empty site in Indiranagar, where large quantities of garbage had been dumped illegally, Cholan instructed staff to clear the waste immediately and impose fines on the property owner for negligence.

Expressing appreciation for the pourakarmikas and sanitation workers, the Commissioner interacted with them during the drive, inquired about their well-being, and directed senior officers to address their concerns on priority.
