Karnataka Lokayukta Launches Massive Anti-Corruption Sweep; 10 Officials Raided in DA Case
Bengaluru, Nov 25: In one of the year’s biggest anti-corruption operations, the Karnataka Lokayukta on Tuesday launched simultaneous raids across multiple districts, targeting 10 government officials accused of amassing disproportionate assets. The coordinated searches began early in the morning and were carried out at homes, offices, and properties linked to the accused officers.
According to senior Lokayukta officials, the operation was based on credible inputs indicating large-scale illegal wealth accumulation by personnel across key state departments, including public works, transport, municipal administration, irrigation, and education.
Officials Raided Across Karnataka
The Lokayukta teams carried out searches against the following officials:
- Puttaswamy C, Chief Accounts Officer, Town Municipality, Mandya
- Prem Singh, Chief Engineer, Upper Krishna Project (UKP), Bidar
- Ramaswamy C, Revenue Inspector, Hootagalli Municipality, Mysuru
- Subash Chandra, Assistant Professor (Sociology), Karnataka University, Dharwad
- Sathish, Senior Veterinary Examiner, Primary Veterinary Clinic, Huilgol, Dharwad
- Shekhappa, Executive Engineer, Office of the Project Director, Haveri
- Kumarswamy P, Office Superintendent, Regional Transport Office (RTO), Electronic City, Bengaluru
- Lakshmipathi C.N, First Division Assistant, SIMS Medical College, Shivamogga
- Prabhu J, Assistant Director, Agriculture Sales Depot, APMC, Davanagere
- Girish D.M, Assistant Executive Engineer, PWD, Mysuru–Madikeri division
Sources said multiple Lokayukta teams fanned out simultaneously to prevent information leaks and secure evidence.
Outcome of Raids Pending
A senior official said:
“Raids are still underway at several locations. Details of seizures, cash recovery, documents, and properties will be revealed once the operation concludes.”
This crackdown is part of an intensified effort by the Lokayukta after several recent high-profile DA cases in the state.
