KSCA Elections Back on Track: High Court Ends Litigation Over 2019 Committee, Directs Fresh Polls

Bengaluru: In a development significant for Karnataka cricket administration, the Karnataka High Court has disposed of the writ petition that challenged the validity of the 2019 KSCA office-bearers, noting that their three-year tenure has already expired and that fresh elections have now been announced.

The petition filed by KSCA life member B.N. Madhukar had questioned the 2019 election of Treasurer Vinay Mruthyunjaya, Secretary Santhosh Menon, and Managing Committee members Arun D.S., Kota Kodanda, and Tilak Naidu.

A division bench comprising Justice D.K. Singh and Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju stated that since the committee’s term ended long ago, the relief sought “does not survive for consideration.”

The court further recorded that the KSCA has already scheduled fresh Managing Committee elections on November 30, 2025, making the challenge to the 2019 committee infructuous.

Emphasizing transparency and administrative compliance, the bench directed the association to conduct the elections strictly in accordance with KSCA rules, regulations, and by-laws, and confirmed that all eligible members are free to contest.

With the petition disposed of, all associated interlocutory applications have also been closed, effectively clearing the decks for the 2025 KSCA polls, which are expected to be closely watched within Karnataka’s cricketing ecosystem.
