BENGALURU:
As many as 91 students from Karnataka who are pursuing MBBS in Ukraine are stranded, the Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority has shared the latest updates on the situation with the media on Friday morning.
The report available till 6 am on Friday morning says that out of total 91 stranded students, 28 are from Bengaluru followed by Mysuru (10), 5 each from Ballari and Hassan, 4 each from Bagalkote and Chamarajanagar, 3 each from Chikkaballapur, Chikkamangalore, Dakshina Kannada, Haveri, Kodagu and Raichur, 2 each from Chitradurga, Davangere, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mandya, Udupi, and Vijayapura while one each from Kolar, Shivamogga and Uttara Kannada districts.


Karnataka Nodal officer Dr. Manoj Rajan shared the latest information as of Friday 6 am with media houses. “All this information collected at our 24/7 control room has been shared to Ministry of External Affairs and Embassy of India, Kyiv, Ukraine to make all possible arrangements for the safe evacuation of stranded students hailing from Karnataka,” he said in a release.
He further said that the MEA officers in the countries bordering Ukraine are in strategic locations for safe evacuation from alternative routes.
Rajan also requested to stay calm and face the situation with fortitude and be rest assured that the solution for safe evacuation is worked out on a mission mode.
