8 IAS officers to coordinate Covid control in Bengaluru

BENGALURU:

With the aim of coordinating Covid-control measures in Bengaluru more effectively, 8 IAS officers have been appointed as coordinators for each of the city’s 8 zones.

Chief Secretary Vijay Bhaskar, who is also chairman of the State Executive Committee, Disaster Management, in an order on Thursday said the move was meant to monitor management measures to effectively control the spread of Covid-19,  and to review and make immediate decisions. The following zoning coordinators have been appointed effective from July 9.

They are: Tushar Girinath (East), Rajendra Kumar Kataria (West), Captain P Manivannan (Bommanahalli), Naveen Raj Singh (Yelahanka), Munish Moudgil (South), N Manjula (Mahadevapura), PC Jaffer (Dasarahalli), and R Vishal (Rajarajeshwari Nagar).

The zonal coordinators will function under the overall supervision of the BBMP Commissioner. BBMP officers, joint commissioners and staff, and state government/corporation/ board officers and staff should provide assistance to the zonal coordinators, the order said.
