600 Movie Legend, Leelavati, Succumbs to Age-Related Illness

Veteran Kannada film actress Leelavati has sadly passed away today in Bangalore. She had been battling age-related illness and unfortunately, did not respond to treatment at a private hospital.

Leelavati’s deteriorating health had prompted several actors, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, to visit her and inquire about her well-being.

Leelavati was a highly acclaimed South Indian actress, known for her exceptional talent. Throughout her career, she appeared in a remarkable 600 movies, spanning across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages. Her contribution to Kannada cinema alone amounted to over 400 films.

Her performances in movies such as Bhakta Kumbara, Mana Chosidha Madadi, and Santa Tukaram will forever be remembered as some of her most memorable works.

Leelavati leaves behind her son, Vinod Raj, who is also a renowned Kannada film actor.
