3 new clusters with 20 Covid-positives in North Bengaluru

Among them are 7 members of a family that attended RT Nagar function

BENGALURU:

Amid the scare of a possible second Covid-19 wave, North Bengaluru has reported 3 more clusters with a total of 20 people testing positive.

As per BBMP Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad, 7 people residing in Govardhan Residency — an apartment building with 3 floors where 19 people reside — have tested positive.

In another case, 7 members of a family in Thindlu, who had attended a marriage in RT Nagar, have tested positive, while 6 occupants of a duplex building in Chikka Bommasandra have tested positive.

Govardhan Residency (Ward 9)

One person who had returned from Kerala on March 1 developed symptoms. He came to the PHC on March 8, and later tested positive. Four members of a family developed symptoms on March 15. On March 17, another two persons in the same apartment tested positive. There are 19 residents in the building and all their primary contacts have been tested.

BEL Layout, Thindlu (Ward 10)

A family had attended a marriage function in RT Nagar on March 2. One of the attendees tested positive on March 12, and the family was advised home quarantine. On March 15, the family was retested and on March 18 all 7 were declared positive. All others in the duplex building are under home quarantine.

No 97, 1st Main, 2nd Cross, Chikka Bommasandra (Ward 4)

On March 17, a PHC team visited the area where 2 persons had tested positive. The duo were staying in a duplex building with 9 occupants — 6 on the first floor and 3 on the ground floor. According to the team, four more in the building have tested positive.
